Authorities in King County, WA have filed charges of first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm against a Seattle man who was allegedly caught on surveillance video shooting another man several times in the back on Aug. 19.

Court documents obtained by TGM say the suspect, Josue O Curiel-Sanchez, jumped out of a vehicle and shot the victim several times in an unprovoked attack.

In October 2014, according to the charging document, Curiel-Sanchez was convicted in Yakima County, WA of second-degree assault and placed under the supervision of the Department of Corrections. The following April, he was charged with violating the Uniform Controlled Substances Act in Franklin County, and at the time, he was on DOC Escape status. Then in September 2015, he was again charged in Yakima County with illegal possession of a firearm.

In February 2017, he was released from prison and the following August, he was again charged with illegal firearm possession, also in Yakima County.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office has asked the court to set a bail of $250,000 in light of the suspect’s prior history.
