Colt recently announced the update of its Competition Pistol line, featuring the Series 70™ firing system, and it does not cost the consumer any more money.
The Colt Competition Pistol has been offered with the Series 80™ firing system. Colt said the blued model will still be priced beginning at $899 and the stainless model is $999. There is a slightly more expensive version chambered in .38 Super, in both finishes.

For weekend competitors and those looking to improve their action pistol shooting game, this race ready pistol, which was already an excellent value, has just become even more desirable.”
Colt announced that it is pursuing yet another class of competitive shooter with this recent change. The company noted that all the features that have made the Competition Pistol™ Colt’s number one selling handgun remain the same.
The pistol features the same Novak adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight for easy target acquisition, competition ergonomics, Colt branded blue G10 grips, and Colt’s Dual Spring Recoil System™ to ease recoil and keep shots on-target.
