Editorial board removes doubt about gun stand

A New Year’s Eve editorial in the Seattle, WA, Times removed any doubt about where the editorial board of that newspaper—which endorsed Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure passed by voters in November—wants to go with gun regulation.

In the editorial, which discussed headlines the newspaper would like to see in 2015, was this: “Gun control, reloaded: Lawmakers pass ammunition limits, safe storage laws.”

A Times reader was quick to respond with a suggestion of his own: “Washington State Supreme Court rescinds I-594, calling it unconstitutional.”

Many Northwest Second Amendment activists believe the editorial board is simply “in the bag” for every kind of restrictive gun law.

The editorial was published two days after the Second Amendment Foundation and several co-plaintiffs launched a federal lawsuit against the initiative in federal district court in Tacoma.
