Pachmayr announces Alume Grips for M1911 Pistols

Pachmayr has announced the Alume Series pistol grips by Raffir, for Model 1911 semiautomatic pistols.

Raffir is a Danish company that has been experimenting with various materials for more than a decade, according to a news release from Pachmayr and Lyman Products. These materials include both natural and composite.

Pachmayr’s Alume grips feature a composite of aluminum mesh encapsulated in a translucent epoxy resin, the company noted. Some of these grip patterns are remarkable, and no two may be exactly alike. They are, according to Trevor Mullen, vice president for Lyman’s Global Marketing and Business Development, “virtually indestructible.”

Alume grips are offered in black, blue, brown, green or red with a high gloss finish. Officially these color choices are Dark Knight, Emerald Rush, Blue Storm, Crimson Wave and Copper Canyon. They have a 3-D texture and are impervious to changes in weather.
