This fascinating book may become extremely important in times to come.
It starts off with a modern version of the old WWII Philippine Guerilla Gun, essentially a 12-gauge zip gun used by those fighting the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. This version is a double barrel (although it could be easily made as a single barrel) version entirely made from materials from Home Depot. Made from mostly pipes, the important thing is that it works. All legalities and how to comply with them are covered in this book as well, which is important as it includes information which could get someone into legal hot water.
Building guns from 80-percent finished receivers is a common home gun building project now and this is covered in depth as well as listing popular sources for the receivers. It’s not just AR15s either for you can also build a Glock-type pistol from an 80-percent finished receiver and how to do this project is detailed as well. Want to build a bolt action gun? That takes a lot more in the tool department but instructions are there. Perhaps you just want to assemble a gun from parts or use a military surplus parts kit to make a working rifle. Here you will find what that entails.
There are also related projects such as DIY camouflage gun painting, how to make your own ghillie suit written by a USMC scout sniper, making kydex holsters, a section on the proper AR armorer tools, reloading ammunition, and even a chapter on how to cast your own brass knuckles.
All in all this is a most informative book that is full of projects for the firearms lover. At some point in the future the information found herein may prove as important then as it would have been to the Philippine Guerillas in WWII.—Jim Dickson
