
A new optics-ready version of Ruger’s Max-9 compact pistol is in the spotlight, featuring the reliable key features of the standard model, at an affordable price.
According to Ruger, this striker-fired pistol has a manual safety, short, smooth trigger pull, positive reset, hardened steel alloy slide, one-piece precision-machined fire control chassis and a rugged glass-filled nylon grip frame. The grip has a medium texture for a secure grasp, and this pistol allows mounting of co-witnessed JPoint and Shield-pattern micro red dot sights.
It has a 12-plus-1 capacity, 3.2-inch barrel cut with six lands and grooves on a 1:10-inch right-hand twist, fixed front sight, drift-adjustable rear sight, black Nitride finish on the slide, and reversible magazine release.
Ruger’s new Max-9 version comes with a single 12-round magazine featuring an E-Nickel Teflon coating. It weighs 18.4 ounces unloaded, has an overall length of 6 inches and is 4.42 inches high.
This pistol is not available in either California or Massachusetts, according to the company website.
