OPINION: The name came to the slang of “Dumplingate”.
Repressive California politics never make it easy for law-abiding citizens as in the aftermath of a minority owned gun retailer in the Gavin Newsom’s domain finally gave up its fight for Second Amendment rights.
Dumpling Firearms unfortunately was at the peril of counteractive California politics and procedure.
The firearms distributor that applied for a business license in Liberal Redwood City, California, a suburb of perpetually blue San Francisco was ultimately denied the freedom to operate as demagogues among the city council led to futility and at the same time a denomination of tyranny.
The applicant was a first generation Chinese-American in attempting to empower a marginalized community to practice reasonable self-defense as people ransacked by crime. Polls have showed that gun ownership among Asian Americans has exploded over recent years.
In 2022 the city council of Redwood City, invoked a strict challenge against the Dumpling named/brand proposed shop, claiming that the business threatened public safety as the location was apparently in proximity to a school and allegedly violations provoked residents to the point of ideological hysteria. The city managed to implement and approve a “temporary” ordinance which ultimately resulted in the business being preemptively disallowed to exist.
As a result of the ordinance, along with incessant pressure from the anti-gun culture of the community, the owner decided to pull the plug on the project and relocate to a municipality where the Second Amendment is embraced. This culminated in another sad and inexcusable narrative that should never be permitted in a republic that celebrates basic liberties.
Disturbingly, fundamental rights are constantly being challenged and admonished by radicals at the expense of public safety and sanity. While the leftist politics of the Bay Area claim merit in painting the false picture of equity, the fact remains that citizens are being harmed at the expense of criminals without recourse as the state is not conducive to commonsense with the hammer blunt gavel of the Governor intent on enacting control over free will.
Victims are victims until they are to subject resources, a plight that the exploitative state of California continues to impose upon citizens and those trying to make a difference.
