SLG2, Inc., the outdoor industry’s leading experiential marketing company, will bring its Shoot Like A Girl experience to Bass Pro Shops in Rapid City, this weekend, Aug. 15-16, as part of its 2026 Grand Safety Tour.

Taking place during the 86th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, one of the nation’s largest motorcycle events, the Shoot Like A Girl experience gives visitors another exciting destination where they can participate in the shooting sports, receive personalized guidance, and build confidence through hands-on participation.

Each year, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to western South Dakota, with Rapid City serving as a gateway for rally attendees exploring the Black Hills throughout the week. Whether visitors are taking a break from the ride, spending time with family, shopping at Bass Pro Shops, or looking for another memorable experience during Bike Week, Shoot Like A Girl offers an engaging opportunity to try firearms and archery. In this welcoming environment, where questions are encouraged and everyone is celebrated, participants receive information tailored to their individual experience level.

“There’s an incredible energy throughout the Black Hills during Bike Week, and we’re excited to be part of an event that brings together people from every corner of the country,” said Karen Butler, president of SLG2, Inc. “Many visitors are already looking for unique experiences beyond the ride itself, and we invite them to stop by Bass Pro Shops and participate in the Shoot Like A Girl experience, where we are building confidence, one shot at a time.”

Event Location:

Bass Pro Shops
3231 E Mall Drive
Rapid City, SD, 57701

Event Details:

Saturday, August 15: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 16: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The centerpiece of the experience is Shoot Like A Girl’s fully enclosed semi-tractor-trailer mobile range. Inside the mobile range, guests aged 18 and older can participate in an instructor-led experience focused on safe firearm handling using a FATS by Inveris military-grade simulator that provides realistic feedback in a controlled environment. Women can also participate in archery activities led by certified coaches, making the event an engaging and educational experience for the entire family. Youth and teens are encouraged to attend and take part in firearm safety discussions.

Outside the mobile range, attendees can explore the Shoot Like A Girl gun bar, featuring a variety of firearms and product demonstrations from some of the outdoor industry’s leading brands. Attendees can also explore hands-on demonstrations regarding safe storage options, pepper spray with inert spray, knife sharpening, and much more. These practical skills help support safety, foster preparedness, and encourage confidence both in the field and at home.

Guests will also get a hands-on opportunity to test optics, holsters, concealed carry handbags, and other outdoor accessories. Additionally, attendees can enjoy sample tastings of Black Rifle Coffee.

Women, men, and families of all experience levels are welcome, and no prior knowledge is required to participate. The event is free to attend, and all equipment will be provided on-site.
