Citizens Committee Updates, Modernizes Website

After many years, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has recently updated its website with dazzling new graphics and user-friendly controls; all the work of CCRKBA Executive Director Andrew Gottlieb.

The website is found at ccrkba.org, and there are links to all recent news releases, CCRKBA’s expanding roster of state affiliate organizations, notice of the upcoming New England Firearms Advocacy Conference (see related story), and much more.

Visitors will also find out why CCRKBA is recognized nationally as the “Common Sense Gun Lobby.” As noted on the website, “Our role is to educate grassroots activists, the public, legislators, and the media. Our programs are designed to help all Americans understand the importance of the Second Amendment and its role in keeping Americans free.”

Founded by Alan Gottlieb more than 50 years ago, CCRKBA has grown to become one of the frontline organizations devoted to grassroots activism. CCRKBA helps local groups fight back by giving them the right plan, ways to communicate, and tools to organize and make sure they use their resources in the best way possible, so we can keep our freedoms safe for years to come.

What makes CCRKBA different is how we focus on the individual’s right to own and carry firearms. Instead of just depending on membership fees like some organizations do, CCRKBA gets donors and activists directly involved in the political process. The result is that their voices are heard by building strong relationships between state groups and national organizations. When important laws are proposed, they work together to respond quickly and make a big impact. This way, individual advocacy efforts become a united movement that gets real results.

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, CCRKBA is recognized as an effective grassroots organization with affiliates across the country. We have multiple affiliate organizations in several states, and the list is growing.

Each year, CCRKBA co-sponsors the Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) with our sister organization, the Second Amendment Foundation. In its 41st year, the conference brings together the brightest minds in the Second Amendment community for a weekend of reports, panel discussions, networking and socializing. This year’s GRPC will be held Sept. 25-27 in Dallas, Texas, at the Westin Dallas-Fort Worth Airport hotel.

In recent years, CCRKBA has also become increasingly involved in litigation, either directly as a plaintiff organization or by submitting amicus briefs supporting legal actions against onerous and unconstitutional gun control laws.

The 54-year-old committee mission remains firm: Protecting the individual right to keep and bear arms, and fighting to assure that right shall not be infringed.
