Southwest Washington firearms retailer Sporting Systems, owned by veteran Second Amendment activist Daniel Mitchell, has announced the return of its “Bullshootin’” program with a gathering this Friday, Oct. 3, which will double as a fund-raiser for one of three Puget Sound region gun dealers now being sued by the City of Seattle.

The lawsuit was launched a few weeks ago against Glock and three dealers, Pantel Tactical, a retailer located in the city of Renton; Bulls Eye Indoor Range in Tacoma, and Rainier Arms in the city of Auburn. All three cater to residents of King County, including people living in Seattle.

Friday’s event will feature attorney William Kirk, president of Washington Gun Law.

“This is our first Bullshootin’ since Covid and with a special purpose,” Mitchell explained on Facebook. “The anti-gunners in Washington know they’re losing their butts on the Constitutional issue, so they are attacking ALL of us through the civil courts, through increasing FFLs cost of operation and attacking the dealers with lawfare.”

Attorney William Kirk, president of Washington Gun Law, recently posted a podcast discussing Seattle’s lawsuit against Glock and three Washington gun dealers.

There will be a one-hour discussion about the Glock lawsuit and other actions in Washington state with Dan and Heidi Mitchell and attorney Kirk, according to the announcement.

“We’re using our opening Bullshootin’ night as a benefit for Pantel Tactical in Renton, the smallest of the 3 dealers named in the Glock lawsuit,” according to the announcement. “A $50 admission gets you in, with food and drink provided by Sporting Systems.”

While not named in the Seattle lawsuit, Sporting Systems is frequently in the news as one of the most active gun shops in the state. Headquartered in southwest Washington’s Hazel Dell—a suburb of Vancouver in Clark County—the store is something of a hub for grassroots gun rights activism. Owner Mitchell serves on the board of directors for the Second Amendment Foundation, and he has been a plaintiff in civil lawsuits challenging Washington gun control laws.

“$50 x 50 people = $2500 to Pantel for the their legal counsel,” the announcement says. “Sporting Systems will match that 1:1. So we can raise $5,000 to assist an FFL who’s being targeted by the City of Seattle. I would ask ALL other FFLs to consider making a similar contribution if you can.”
