The newest incarnation of Marlin’s popular Trapper lever-action carbine is chambered for the potent 10mm Auto cartridge, and according to Ruger—which owns Marlin—this new version is shipping with limited availability.
According to Marlin, this new model features a 16.1-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel cut with six lands and grooves on a 1:16-inch right-hand twist. The tubular magazine holds 10 cartridges.
The receiver and magazine are also stainless, and they feature a matte finish. Overall length is 33.25 inches, and the length-of-pull is 13.28 inches.
The barrel is threaded with a 5/8″-24 pattern to accommodate accessories, such as a suppressor, and the carbine comes with Skinner sights, including a receiver-mounted peep sight and front blade sight. The rugged black laminate buttstock features sharp checkering on the grip and forearm, and the butt is finished with a rubber butt pad to soak up any recoil.
Other features include a loop lever, positive push button cross-bolt safety and traditional half-cock hammer. The rifle will feed a wide range of 10mm Auto factory ammunition, but it is not compatible with .40 S&W ammunition.
The Marlin Trapper weighs 6.3 pounds and the MSRP is $1,599.
