Sturm, Ruger announced three new versions of the American Rimfire model bolt-action rifle family, each featuring a handsome Flat Dark Earth synthetic stock.
The rifles include a .22 WMR, .22 LR and .17 HMR. All three boast 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrels with a 1/2″-28 thread pattern and a factory-installed thread protector. They are set up for use with scopes, as there are no metallic sights.
Overall, they each measure 35 inches and have a 13.75-inch length of pull, according to Ruger specs. All three hit the scale at 5.3 pounds.

The .22 Long Rifle model has 1:16-inch rifling with a right-hand twist and six lands and grooves. The .22 Magnum version has a 1:14-inch right-hand rifling twist with the same groove pattern, and the .17 HMR model’s barrel is cut with a 1:9-inch twist, also right hand.
Finish on all three models is satin blue. Each stock includes modules for changing the length of pull, and a high comb for use with optics. They also feature patented Power Bedding, which Ruger describes as an integral bedding block system which positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel.
The action features Ruger’s Marksman Adjustable trigger for a crisp release, and a user adjustable pull weight ranging from 3 to 5 pounds.
Each rifle is fitted with an aluminum scope rail, and the stocks have factory-installed sling swivel studs.
