Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. has introduced the newest addition to the Ruger American Rifle Generation II lineup: the Scout model as the 2026 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show continues in Las Vegas.
Ast the same time, Ruger is offering short-barreled rifle (“SBR”) versions of the PC Carbine, 10/22 and Ruger American Rifle Generation II.
Designed for versatility right out of the box, the Scout gives hunters and sport shooters a ready-to-use platform that can be easily tailored to environmental and shooting needs. The Scout comes equipped with iron sights, adjustable for elevation and windage, and an extended Picatinny rail, which provides generous mounting space for a wide range of optics—from long eye relief scopes to night vision devices. Its compact 16.1-inch barrel makes it exceptionally handy for brush hunting, navigating tight spaces, or working around the property.
The Scout also features a leaf‑green stock with black textured splatter for enhanced grip and control, paired with a durable Cobalt Cerakote-finished action. The threaded muzzle accepts suppressors and other accessories and comes fitted with an A2‑style flash hider.
The new Scout models are just the latest additions to the already expansive American Rifle Gen II lineup, which continues to build on the reliability and accuracy of the original Ruger American Rifle with its improved ergonomics, three-position safety with stainless steel locking bolt, and more rigid stock. The Scout is available now in .308 Win, 350 Legend, 5.56 NATO, and 7.62×39.
Meanwhile, the new SBR variants deliver the feature-rich, proven performance of renowned Ruger platforms in compact, well-balanced designs that remain easy to handle – even when equipped with a suppressor – while preserving Ruger’s hallmarks of precision and reliability.
The PC Carbine SBR features a black synthetic chassis, a black Magpul® stock adjustable for length-of-pull, and an aluminum free-float handguard with a removable M-LOK® hand stop – all combining to deliver superior control and a customizable fit for any shooter. Its cold hammer-forged, 6.5-inch barrel is threaded 1/2″-28 and includes a thread protector.

This model ships with the SR-Series™/Security-9® pistol magazine well installed, along with one 17-round SR-Series or Security-9 9mm magazine, and includes an additional magazine well that accepts most double-stack Glock®-pattern magazines.

The two 10/22 SBR models each feature a reversible folding stock with adjustable length of pull, BX-Trigger®, match bolt release and 1/2″-28 threaded cold hammer-forged barrel. Model 33000 features an 8-inch alloy steel barrel and a receiver with an integrated rear cleaning port for easy maintenance.

Model 33001 is a Takedown rifle equipped with a 10-inch barrel tensioned inside an aluminum alloy sleeve for enhanced rigidity and accuracy.
The Ruger American Gen II SBR is in the Patrol configuration and features a black splatter stock that provides an excellent grip without being too sharp or abrasive. The bull contour, cold hammer-forged 12.5-inch barrel is threaded 5/8″-24 and includes a thread protector. This 338 ARC caliber model ships with one 5-round AR-style magazine, with additional calibers available soon.
