Springfield Armory® has announced the launch of the Echelon™ Alpha 4.0C 9mm pistol, offering shooters a highly accessible entry point into the modular Echelon ecosystem, as reported Tuesday by The Outdoor Wire.
Featuring an MSRP of $599, this 4″ barreled, 15+1-capacity compact 9mm pistol is ready to perform on day one, as well as evolve with you over time.
Built around the robust Central Operating Group™, a serialized stainless-steel chassis employed in all Echelon pistols, the Alpha provides a rock-solid foundation for your modern, modular defensive handgun needs. Precision-built from stainless steel using advanced manufacturing methods, the chassis can be easily removed and paired with different grip modules and slides, allowing you to quickly reconfigure the Alpha across the Echelon platform.
In addition, the Echelon Alpha features the Variable Interface System™ under the pistol’s polymer slide plate cover, which enables direct-mount capability for today’s most popular optics. This patent-pending system is designed to mount more than 30 optics directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates. Simply configure the self-locking pins (a Trijicon® RMR® footprint set is included with the Alpha) for the footprint of your desired optic to achieve a low, direct mount for improved sight picture and intuitive alignment.
In addition, the compact Echelon Alpha employs purpose-driven ergonomics to deliver performance where it counts. The recontoured slide of the Echelon Alpha is precision forged and finished in Melonite® for durability. It features deep, aggressive serrations to deliver a secure grip for fast, positive manipulation in any condition.
The pistol also features an interchangeable backstrap system that allows you to tailor the grip to your hand. It ships with the medium-sized backstrap, with small and large sizes also available. The Echelon Alpha also ships with a flush-fit, stainless-steel, 15-round magazine. All Echelon magazines are compatible with the Echelon Alpha. Reduced capacity 10-round and California-legal variants of the Alpha 4.0C are also available.
