Things are going very well for those of us who respect, honor and value the Second Amendment, thanks to President Donald J. Trump.
The U.S. Supreme Court will soon ensure that all Americans can legally own the country’s most popular rifle.
More federal pro-gun laws are being planned.
The ATF is now targeting armed criminals—real bad guys—rather than ordinary Americans who committed no crime and violated no law. In fact, the current ATF Director is a “gun guy” who actually talks to the pro-gun media. He’s a far cry from the idiots who ran the agency under Joe Biden, who spent all of their time trying to figure out how to violate the Second Amendment.
For consumers, prices are low and product availability is high. There has never been a better time to buy guns and stock up on ammo.
These prime conditions have not gone unnoticed by the country’s anti-gun media.
They are pissed.
More importantly, they are extremely worried, so much so they are getting desperate.
One recent story betrays their growing sense of extreme hopelessness.
The Smoking Gun, which is a division of Everytown for Gun Safety, published a report Wednesday titled: “Loaded Content: How the firearms industry supports “guntubers” who endanger public safety.”
At its base level it’s about what you would expect: “Guntube is a deliberately constructed, industry-funded marketing ecosystem built to sell firearms directly to millions of viewers,” the unnamed authors claimed.
But if you look deeper into the piece, which is painful, you can grasp the authors’ true intent.
The story briefly profiles several YouTube firearm aficionados: Garand Thumb, the Botkins, Colion Noir, Iraqveteran8888 and Brandon Herrera.
All of the pro-gunners got about the same amount of space, except for Herrera.
To be clear, The Smoking Gun went after Herrera, who will likely become the next U.S. Representative for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District.
In fact, they went after him hard.
“Herrera has also used his YouTube channel to glamorize extremist iconography and movements, and even create a permission structure for violence against the government,” the unnamed authors claimed.
I have interviewed Brandon Herrera. In fact, we spoke at length. As I wrote in my story, he knows what he’s talking about and he’s entertaining as hell.
I’m not the only one to be struck by Herrera’s knowledge and his professionalism.

Brandon Herrera has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Texas’ 23rd Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN,” President Trump posted on his social media.
To make matters worse for The Smoking Gun, I can almost guarantee that neither Herrera nor his team even care about the content of the hit piece. In fact, I doubt they have even read the story. Herrara has more than 4 million followers on his YouTube page. He likely receives about 4 million more views on every story than the anti-gun authors will get for their poorly written tripe.
The Smoking Gun is certainly not the only chunk of anti-gun media to target Herrera recently. The entire team of numbskulls is on board.
- MS NOW claimed Republicans find Herrera “impossible to defend.”
- USA TODAY did a story about what he said regarding “women, Nazi weapons.”
- Daily Beast reporters “cornered” Speaker Mike Johnson about the “Vile MAGA candidate.”
- Political cited Herrera’s “detestable language.”
- Esquire wants to know why Johnson is fundraising for Herrera, whom they described as a “Misogynistic troll.”
- Axios called Herrera’s remarks “racist, vulgar.”
It’s been years since the mainstream media has been so united about anything, much less a U.S. House of Representatives race, in Texas no less.
Their main reason for blasting Herrera is more than clear. He is pro-gun. In fact, not only is he extremely open about his passion for firearms, he makes a good living thanks to guns. This, alone, has the other team seething with anger.
In my humble opinion, the best thing about the anti-gunners’ anti-Brandon Herrera movement is this: It simply doesn’t matter. Texas gun owners will elect him to office where he will thrive, despite whatever the other side says about him.
